Google Pixel 7 vs. Pixel 7 Pro: Features and illustrates differences

Google Pixel 7 vs. Pixel 7 Pro: Features and illustrates differences. Another piece of the puzzle for the Google Pixel 7 generation was discovered before the official launch on October 6th. An official data sheet from Taiwan not only provides the already known differences between the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, but also a few new features, such as face recognition, more zoom and a new macro mode for the Pixel 7 Pro.

A lot has already been written about the most important technical data of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, and other bits of information, such as prices and pre-order deals, have already been leaked. Now another piece of the puzzle is being added by a retailer in Taiwan, as leaker Yogesh Brar reveals on Twitter. The data sheet he has shared, although not yet verified, not only provides a convenient comparison of the differences between the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, it also mentions a few new features that were previously unknown or only rumored.

Face recognition on Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

For example face recognition in addition to the fingerprint sensor integrated in the display. Face Unlock is listed as a feature for both Pixel models in the table below, but how secure this unlocking method is given the lack of a 3D depth camera remains to be seen. It was already known that both Pixel 7 variants will offer wireless charging and have the same Tensor G2 chip on board. The case of both Pixel 7 phones will be dust and water resistant to IP68, but that was already the case with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

More zoom on Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

The more detailed differences in the cameras are exciting. It was clear that only the Pixel 7 Pro has the 48 megapixel periscope zoom camera on board. But there are obviously improvements in detail here. So here we are now talking about 5x optical zoom and not 4x as in the data sheet of the Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 7 Pro digitally zooms up to 30x instead of just 20x like its predecessor. With the Pixel 7 there is a maximum of 8x “high resolution” zoom instead of 7x with the Pixel 6, so apparently Google – as indicated in the last Google teaser video – provides more details, probably primarily through software improvements.

Pixel 7 Pro macro focus and motion blur

And two more features are apparently new this year. The data sheet mentions autofocus for the 12 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera of the Pixel 7 Pro and a new macro focus mode as a feature, which the Pixel 7 lacks. Furthermore, the Movie Motion Blur feature is mentioned on both Google phones, which should also be new and should ensure more cinematographic-looking movements in video recordings. In terms of display and memory configuration, this leak confirms the information that has already become known.
