Google Pixel 7a will be super: wireless charging, updated cameras and much more. After the excellent feedback obtained by the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the expectation is growing for the arrival on the market of the new Google Pixel 7a.

The Redmi Note 12 arrive: all OLEDs, cameras up to 200 MP and extreme charging

The smartphone is among the innovations planned for the hardware division of Google and should be ready during the first half of 2023. Various information has been circulating on the project for some time. The new Google Pixel 7a will be an evolution of the Pixel 6a but will inherit several features from the new Pixel 7 range starting with wireless charging. The smartphone will be a mid-range but with some characteristics typical of higher-end smartphones. Here are the latest rumors about the project:

Google Pixel 7a: lots of news coming for the future mid-range of the Pixel range

With the project of the new Google Pixel 7a, according to the first rumors, Google intends to surprise, renewing the series with various innovations capable of guaranteeing a net upgrade in terms of performance and functionality available to users. Over the years, the differences between the A series and the high-end Pixels have gradually diminished. This trend is expected to continue in the course of 2023 with the new Pixel 7a which could surprise, from several points of view.

According to a new leak coming from China and signed by the insider Digital Chat Station, always very active on the local social network Weibo, the new Google Pixel 7a will be produced by Foxconn in China and will use the Google Tensor G2 SoC already seen, and appreciated, on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. There is also talk of a possible novelty regarding the materials of the body with the farewell to plastic for the transition to new and more premium solutions, such as ceramic, at least for some components.

The new Google Pixel 7a, moreover, should also be able to count on wireless charging, integrating perfectly into the Pixel ecosystem which also focuses heavily on this charging solution (thanks also to dedicated accessories). The wireless charging of the Pixel 7a should be particularly slow, limiting itself to 5 W. A solution of this type would differentiate the 7a from the rest of the range which can count on a wireless charging of 20 W. The difference between top of the range and mid -range, in this case, will be evident.

The rumors on the photographic sector are also interesting. The new Google Pixel 7a will record a decided upgrade of the cameras compared to the 6a. In recent weeks, a Google project (codenamed Lynx) that probably refers to the 7a has been coupled to the 50 Megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor used by the Pixel 6 range. The sensor in question should be coupled to a Sony IMX787 from 64 Megapixel, as a telephoto lens, and a Sony IMX712, 13 Megapixel, which will take care of the shots with ultra-wide angle optics.

These rumors could confirm the arrival of a telephoto lens for the A series of the Pixel range. For now, this sensor has been exclusive to the Google Pros launched in the last two years. The company could, therefore, opt for a decisive change of course with the aim of making the new Google Pixel 7a even more complete. It should be noted that Sony’s telephoto sensor also has a higher number of megapixels (the quality is, however, all to be verified) compared to the 48 megapixel Samsung GM5 used by the Pixel 7 Pro.

The new Google Pixel 7a, therefore, considering all these rumors, could come very close to the top of the Google range. The smartphone should re-propose the same SoC, introduce wireless charging and be able to count on an improved photographic sector. Also of note is the possible improvement in build quality with the choice of premium solutions for the body.

The appointment with the new Google Pixel 7a is set for next year. The smartphone, in fact, should debut during the first half of 2023. The hardware division of Google, we recall, also has a first folding, the Pixel Fold, and a tablet, the Pixel Tablet, in addition to the future Pixel 8 that will debut. during the second half of 2023. The next few months, therefore, will be full of news for Google.
