Google Pixel smartphones can be easily unlocked with a second SIM card

Google Pixel smartphones can be easily unlocked with a second SIM card. David Schuetz, a developer and security researcher, has discovered a way to unlock Pixel smartphones in just a couple of steps.

What speed, Samsung! Android 13 and One UI 5 available on Galaxy S21, S20 and Note 20

Here’s what you need to do to unlock:

  1. It is incorrect to scan your finger several times so that the smartphone requires you to enter a password.
  2. Remove the SIM card and insert your own.Enter your PIN incorrectly three times and then enter the correct PUK.
  3. After entering the PUK code, the system will prompt you to update the PIN code, and the smartphone will be unlocked without entering a password.

Schutz reported the bug to Google in early June and expected to receive a reward of up to $100,000 for the vulnerability he found. But, as it turned out, Google knew about the error and worked on a solution.

However, as an exception, Google paid the developer $ 70,000, since after his report, the engineers really began to solve the problem.

The November security patch has already fixed the vulnerability, so be sure to update your smartphone.
