Smartphone, Apple now has more users than Samsung. Apple surpassed Samsung in terms of smartphone users in early 2023, according to Atlas VPN, a notable shift in the market with the South Korean firm having been the dominant player in the sector for years.

According to the data in question (details here) in October last year Apple surpassed Samsuing’s market share by 0.2%; nevertheless, Samsung recovered the position the following month, with 28.33% of the market share. In November and December, Apple’s market share was slightly lower than Samsung’s, with 27.48% and 26.98% respectively.

At the beginning of 2023, for two months in a row, iPhones are now the smartphones leading the sector; in January Apple scores 27.6% market share while Samsung 27.09%; in February Apple drops slightly to 27.1% and Samsung also drops to 26.75%.

There are currently 6.84 billion smartphone users in the world; of these 1.85 billion are iPhone users, and 1.82 billion are users of Samsung devices. It should be noted that the numbers in question are simple estimates: there are people who could have multiple phones and use two devices at the same time, Samsung and Apple.

According to the data in question, Xiaomi phones in February represented 12.29% of the market share, those of Oppo 6.86%; Huawei has seen a decline in the last six months and for this brand is now indicated a market share of 4.84%.
