Tesla Full Self Driving beta available to everyone for $15,000

Tesla Full Self Driving beta available to everyone for $15,000. In recent years, after gradually expanding access to the FSD beta version of Full Self Driving, Tesla is now opening these features to anyone who has paid for the Autopilot package. The announcement comes directly in a tweet from Elon Musk.

With a few words, as usual, Musk presents the novelty in a message through his official account:

Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta is now available in North America to anyone who requests it from the car screen, assuming you have purchased this option

FSD is an extension of Tesla’s “Autopilot” driver assistance function, which brings automated driving functions such as automatic steering in cities, automatic parking, traffic light / stop sign recognition. The feature certainly doesn’t come cheap and requires paying an extra $15,000 after a $3,000 price increase in September.

Tesla first promised to roll out full self-driving capabilities in 2018, but they finally only appeared in July 2021 to a small number of “experienced and observant drivers.” Now, Tesla has abandoned the requirement of at least 100 miles of Autopilot and the safety score of 80, offering everyone access to the beta.

However, it will not go unnoticed that Tesla is launching FSD at a time when the company itself is under scrutiny by regulators. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently expanded its investigation into a number of crashes involving Tesla vehicles. In a separate investigation, it is also looking into more than 30 accidents involving self-driving cars.
