WhatsApp is aware of the issue and is testing a new setting called “Expiring Groups“, which will allow users to set a specific expiration date after which the group will automatically leave.
When this feature is released, users will be able to choose from various expiration options such as a day, a week or a custom date, and will also have the ability to remove a previously set expiration in case they change their mind. The option is per user and will not apply to other group participants.
Meanwhile, another feature WhatsApp is working on could help users avoid spam calls on the platform. According to WABetaInfo, the feature will offer the ability to silence calls from unknown numbers, although the silenced calls will still be visible in the Notification Center and call list.
Finally, users will be able to hide their phone number in group chats and replace it with a personalized name.
