Longer battery life

The iPhone 14 Plus is the first entry-level iPhone to feature a large 6.7-inch display that has historically been reserved for the highest-end iPhone models. Thanks to the display, which lacks features from Pro models, such as ProMotion and others, a larger battery fits inside the device. The iPhone 14 Plus has the longest battery life of any non-Pro iPhone.

According to Apple, users can get up to 26 hours of video playback on the iPhone 14 Plus and up to 100 hours of audio playback. Like all iPhone 14 models, iPhone 14 Plus supports MagSafe technology, which can charge the device up to 50% in 30 minutes.

Same cameras as iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have the same features and camera specs, which means customers choosing between the two models don’t have to compare image quality.

Both models feature a 12-megapixel main camera with ƒ/1.5 aperture and touch-shift optical image stabilization. The 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera on both models has a 120-degree field of view, ƒ/2.4 aperture, and a 13mm lens. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also feature True Tone flash, Deep Fusion support, Smart HDR, Photonic Engine, and an all-new autofocus selfie camera.

Powered by A15 Bionic

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus feature the A15 Bionic chip from last year’s iPhone 13 Pro. There are two variants of the A15 Bionic chip, one with a 4-core GPU and the other with a 5-core GPU. The 5-core GPU was reserved for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max only, while the lower end models had a 4-core GPU.

Thanks to last year’s iPhone 13 Pro chip, Apple says the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have strong performance for apps, games, and augmented reality. All iPhone 14 models, including the iPhone 14 Pro, have an updated internal layout for improved heat dissipation.

Super Retina XDR display

The iPhone 14 Plus features a 6.7-inch display the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Super Retina XDR display on the iPhone 14 Plus has 458 pixels per inch (ppi), can reach peak brightness of up to 1200 nits for HDR content, has a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, True Tone, and wide color support.

Impact resistance

iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are protected by ceramic glass. Ceramic Shield technology was announced with the iPhone 12, the display glass received nanocrystals for improved protection against drops and scratches. All iPhone 14 models are also IP68 rated, which means they can be submerged under water up to 6 meters deep for 30 minutes.
