Apple launches multi-view sporting events with tvOS 16.5

Apple launches multi-view sporting events with tvOS 16.5. You can watch up to four sports events at the same time on Apple TV. Apple has turned on the multi-view feature for Apple TV sporting events starting with last night’s MLB games.

Sony introduces the 2023 BRAVIA XR TV range

The feature requires an Apple TV 4K with tvOS 16.5 beta and will be active for not only MLB games, but MLS games as well.

As an expansion of the picture-in-picture split-screen mode, the new multi-view feature allows Apple TV users to stream up to four sports events simultaneously with a four-quadrant split screen layout.

Users can control the volume of the game they want to hear by selecting it with the Siri Remote. To enable the feature, users need to select the grid icon above the timeline bar, then hit the “More Matches” button.

Right now, the feature is only available for sports events broadcast by Apple through its TV app, which means it’s limited to MLB and MLS for now.

Apple has yet to officially announce when the multi-view feature will be available to everyone, but tvOS 16.5 will likely be released within the next month.
