By offering the Apple TV app, Apple Music, AirPlay and HomeKit for the webOS ecosystem, LG emphasizes that it is continuously refining and expanding the webOS platform for smart TVs, while also improving accessibility and offering “the most convenient user experience”.

The latest data relating to the South Korean manufacturer, highlighting the presence of 120 million devices worldwide with this solution: brands such as Aiwa, Seiki, Stream Systems or even Hyundai use it in their smart TVs.

LG reports that it currently works with 200 partners, and believes it is in a position to deliver on its promise to deliver diverse content and services to millions of users.

Apple TV+ offers access to original content with original shows, films and documentaries; Apple Music gives you access to over 100 million songs, 30,000 expertly curated playlists, tons of 4K video, and access to Apple Music Radio, with music streaming across all genres. Apple’s music service also offers access to lyrics in real time.

webOS Hub is compatible with AirPlay allowing you to stream movies, music, photos and games from iPhone, iPad and Mac. You can also control your TV with the Apple Home app and Siri, taking advantage of HomeKit technology. Support for AirPlay and HomeKit is however limited to OLED and 4K TVs with webOS Hub 2.0 (the latter was updated in October last year).

In addition to Apple TV+, webOS Hub already offered access to Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video. LG is one of Apple’s first partners in this area, with support for apps and/or services from 2018 TV models. Older LG TVs can be installed with Apple TV+ which gives access only to the streaming service’s catalogue.
