Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Qualcomm has introduced the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 mobile platform, marking a significant step forward for the Snapdragon 7 series by integrating on-device generative artificial intelligence (AI). While the Snapdragon 8 series remains the flagship range, the new Gen 3 processor demonstrates that Qualcomm’s mid-range offerings are increasingly competitive.

During our evaluation of the Gen 2 processor within the Poco F5, its ability to swiftly navigate the device’s interface and apps left a lasting impression. The Gen 3 platform extends support to a variety of AI models, including but not limited to Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, Gemini Nano, and Zhipu ChatGLM, showcasing its versatility in handling complex AI tasks.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 enriches the entertainment experience by incorporating select features from the Snapdragon Elite Gaming series. Innovations such as the Game Post Processing Accelerator and Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2 elevate gaming visuals and content upscaling to desktop-grade quality. Additionally, this platform boasts superior photography features powered by an 18-bit cognitive ISP, setting new standards for mobile imaging.

Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile at Qualcomm Technologies, highlighted the platform’s advancements: “Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 ushers in a new era of entertainment for consumers by integrating cutting-edge technologies for more immersive experiences. This platform not only excels in delivering on-device generative AI capabilities and efficiency but also introduces Wi-Fi 7 to the Snapdragon 7 series for the first time.”

OnePlus is set to be the first brand to feature this innovative processor. In addition to OnePlus, Realme and SHARP are also slated to adopt the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, with announcements for the first devices expected in the near future.
