Samsung prioritizes OLEDs for 2024 iPad Pro

Samsung prioritizes OLEDs for the 2024 iPad Pro. According to a recent report, Samsung would prioritize the development of a particular type of display that employs two OLED panels assembled in tandem, i.e. the ones Apple plans to use in future iPad models. iPad and Mac starting from 2024, as now indicated for several months now.

HONOR Tab V8 Pro will offer a display with excellent features

Prioritizing this type of display means the South Korean tech giant will focus less on developing full-cut OLED displays, which use a single OLED panel, according to The Elec.

Recall that Samsung is Apple’s main display supplier and supplies the company with OLED displays for high-end iPhone models, as early as 2017. Other products, such as iPhone SE, most Macs and iPads still use displays LCD, or the more sophisticated and expensive mini-LED technology, but for now only in a few high-end products, including the 12.9″ iPad Pro and the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro.

It must be said that this year’s economic recession has led Samsung Display to not be in a hurry to start investing in the production of Gen 8 OLED panels considering the low demand for consumer electronics, rightly believed by users a non-essential asset on which it is possible to save.

Recall that for the screen of its future devices, Apple seems intent on developing a special coating to increase the duration of the display, made necessary by its slenderness. Unrivaled image quality, Apple’s reported goal, will in part be facilitated by a dry etching process that significantly reduces display weight

The first prototypes of OLED iPads should turn into real products with 11 and even 12.9-inch iPad Pros expected to arrive in 2024: the first OLED MacBook Air should also arrive in the same year.
