Samsung unveils the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablets. Samsung’s new high-end tablets are official. Along with the two new foldables, Z Liu 5 and Z Fold 5, here comes the Galaxy Tab S9, the Galaxy Tab S9+ and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, all with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor, expandable memory and support for 45W fast charging.
Apple wants to make a foldable iPad
After months of leaks and speculation, Samsung’s long-awaited flagship tablets are finally here, along with the Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Watch6. As you would expect, the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra all feature AMOLED screens and the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor already found in the Galaxy S23 series.
Galaxy Tab S9
It starts with the Galaxy Tab S9, which offers a 10-inch QHD+ WQXGA (1600 x 2560) HDR10+ AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. On the back, in terms of multimedia, there is a single 13 MP photo sensor, while on the front there is a 12 MP sensor, next to the volume and power buttons. Both sensors can record video at 4K 60 FPS.
In terms of autonomy, the Galaxy Tab S9 is powered by an 8,400 mAh battery, which can be charged up to 45 Watts. The design, on the other hand, is entrusted to rather thick edges on all four sides.
It is available in two configurations, one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and the other with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, although it should be noted the support for the micro SD card slot.
Galaxy Tab S9+
The mid-range Galaxy Tab S9+ features a 12.4-inch AMOLED panel with the same specs as the non-Plus model. It boosts memory to 12GB on all models, while for storage, you can choose between 256GB and 512GB, with the option to expand via microSD.
The tablet also features two rear-facing photo sensors, one 13MP and one 8MP ultra-wide-angle, with the front-facing camera identical on both models. Finally, the Galaxy Tab S9+ comes with a more powerful 10,900mAh battery.
Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
Moving on to the largest of the three, Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, like its predecessor, has a massive 14.6-inch AMOLED screen with 16:10 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate, as well as an 11,200mAh battery. Adds a second 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens to the front camera setup.
ùOn the back, it features the same dual camera layout as the Galaxy Tab S9+. It also adds a 1TB storage and 16GB RAM variant to the 256GB and 512GB versions.
Features of the Galaxy Tab S9 series
All three models share connectivity options Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, along with a pogo-pin connector for keyboards. A fingerprint sensor is integrated into the display and allows for biometric authentication.
All three models come with an S Pen compartment with a notch on the back that serves as a slot. Samsung has also included some productivity-focused apps like Good Notes, Pop-up, and ArcSite.
Finally, the rumors of them having an IP68 certification have also proven accurate, with both the tablets and the S Pen being water and dust resistant.
