Sony Xperia 5 V, the smartphone with 52 MP super camera

Sony Xperia 5 V, the smartphone with 52 MP super camera. The Sony The Tokyo giant promoted it as a phone with an “extraordinary audio and video experience” due to the HDR display and new speakers. But let’s look at it in detail.

With Oceanic plus Dive iPhone becomes an underwater computer and video camera

In this model, Sony managed first of all to improve the bokeh mode thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms, getting closer to the results “obtained with DSLRs”.

Less is more

On the rear, as we were saying, there are only two cameras instead of three: one is the 52 MP Exmor T, even if the phone actually uses “only” 48 MP; the other instead is a 16 mm ultra-wide angle with 12 MP, a big leap forward compared to the only 3 MP of the previous model.

The main camera also features a much higher resolution than the 12MP telephoto lens absent in this version, and still has the ability to dynamically switch between 48mm and 96mm focal lengths (FF equivalent) so you can still achieve optical zoom 2x lossless.

It can always record videos in 4K up to 120 fps in HDR and there is optical image stabilization which can possibly be combined with 5-axis electronic stabilization in order to significantly reduce vibrations. There is also eye tracking, “Creative Look” color presets and a new Video Creator app that creates clips with photos and music.

About audio and entertainment

For those interested in audio, there is a dedicated microphone for voice recording “which picks up the user’s voice even in the presence of other voices and environmental sounds”.

With this model, Sony has also focused heavily on entertainment, starting with the 6.1-inch OLED HD+ screen with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels, accompanied by the Bravia X1 TV engine and a new speaker system for “deep and powerful bass » which, according to the company, eliminates the need to pair external speakers to watch a movie on your phone.

The battery is 5,000 mAh and promises up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge and which – a dig at Apple’s iPhone 14 – would maintain a capacity of up to 80% after three years.

For gamers

This phone also promises wonders for gamers, especially thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 120 Hz screen refresh rate. There is also a better heat dissipation system designed for gamers, together with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of capacity. Among the ad hoc functions, audio equalizer, the microphone that can be used for voice chats and the screen recording function.

Sony Xperia 5 V, availability and price
