watchOS 9.2 beta includes the Bike and Run Course Challenge. In the third beta of watchOS 9.2 distributed on Tuesday 15 November to developers and some beta testers, Apple has integrated the Path Challenge function. This novelty was announced as arriving before the end of the year when the first beta of watchOS 9 was presented and will allow you to challenge your best or most recent result on the most frequently completed routes, and receive indications of the pace during the session.

Designed for runners and cyclists, the Route Challenge allows you to challenge yourself on an already completed course and tracks like an outdoor run or bike with Apple Watch. The feature, reported by MacRumors, is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later models. The future update to watchOS 9.2 should also offer a new track running experience (currently only for US users) by automatically detecting if the user is running on an athletic track, leveraging data from Apple’s Maps app and GPS to indicate optimal parameters for pace and distance.

With watchOS 9.2, the family setup will support the Home app, and it will be possible to invite other people in the household who will be able to control HomePod speakers and smart accessories. They can also use house or hotel room keys in Apple Wallet.

The latest official watchOS 9 update was released on October 24 integrating “Improvements, bug fixes and important security updates”. The final version of watchOS 9.2 should arrive in a couple of weeks.
