Google is working on a feature similar to Apple’s Continuity. Google is working to offer Android options similar to those offered by Continuity, the feature that connects Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, allowing you to easily switch from one device to another (for example, you can have shared notes by copying texts, images and videos and paste to another device, but also automatically unlock your Mac when you wear your Apple Watch or use your iPhone as a webcam for your Mac).

Mishaal Rahman, a “leaker” of the Android world, reports the arrival of a functionality equivalent to Continuity on Android, according to which Google is working on a function to connect devices with an Android operating system, similar to what Apple allows users to Macs, iPads, iPhones.

Continuity is a very complete feature and the strong integration between iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS makes it easier to offer advanced sharing features such as universal control that allows you to use your Mac keyboard, mouse or trackpad to control your Mac or Additional iPads nearby and work seamlessly between them.

The integration between different Android devices and operating systems will never be able to match that offered by Apple (due to the differences between the various Android devices and the customizations of the various OEMs) but some options will be similar to those already offered by Apple. Here is what we are likely to see according to Rahman:

– Ability to share calls between devices (the ability to switch between devices during a call), similar to the feature on Apple devices that allows you to make and receive phone calls on your Mac or iPad when those devices are on the same network as the iPhone.

– Internet Sharing: similar to the Instant Hotspot feature that allows you to connect to your iPhone or iPad personal hotspot from your Mac, iPad or another iPhone without entering a password.

– Music playback of recent songs between various devices: the ability to start playing a song on one device and continue on a different device.
