Lenovo Legion Go is coming, a portable Windows game console. Lenovo is about to enter the portable console market with the Legion Go which, like its direct rivals Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, should be able to play Windows PC games natively.

The success achieved in a short time by the two Steam and ASUS consoles would thus be encouraging companies to believe in this emerging market segment: it is said that Microsoft itself would have commissioned Xbox to improve the gaming experience on handhelds, so it is not surprising to discover that a giant like Lenovo has worked hard not to leave all the cake to its competitors.

The processor

In an attempt to differentiate itself and encourage its purchase, it is believed that the new Lenovo Legion Go console mounts the recent AMD Phoenix processor: ultra-thin and clearly developed from a gaming perspective, it also seems to be able to support both artificial intelligence algorithms – notoriously demanding in terms of performance – than the graphics for ultrabooks, therefore theoretically it should be fine with low-energy games (estimated at around 15 Watts) on which consoles like these rely a lot.

The screen

Among its strengths would be the 8-inch diagonal screen, therefore larger than the 7-inch panels mounted by both of its rivals. Even if there is only an inch of difference between the two it shouldn’t be underestimated because PC games are generally designed for large screens, even TVs, so having more space should allow for better interaction with game interfaces.

Design and Compatibility

It is said that aesthetically it should take a lot from the Lenovo Legion Play that has never hit the market, while the operating system on board will be the latest version of Windows 11, thus ensuring the maximum possible compatibility with new and future video games.
