Android Auto updates again: version 8.4 is available

Android Auto updates again: version 8.4 is available. Version 8.3 of Android Auto was released just two weeks ago. For the development team, however, there is no rest. Work on Android Auto continues at full speed and in these hours the rollout of Android Auto in version 8.4 has started.

AirPods Max, noise cancellation gets worse after the update

This new update follows what has already been seen with version 8.3, representing a new step forward in a development program already announced by Google in recent months. The main news announced, however, have not yet been released. Here, then, are all the details related to the new update for Android Auto:

Android Auto is updated: few changes for version 8.4

In these hours, two weeks after the previous update, Android Auto returns to update itself in its stable version. In fact, version 8.4 is being released, ready to be installed via the Google Play Store or via APK. The new update, however, does not introduce significant changes, following what has already been seen with the 8.3 version released during the middle of October.

With the new version, in fact, Android Auto records new optimizations as well as a series of corrections to eliminate bugs and various malfunctions that characterized version 8.3. At the moment, there is not yet an official changelog of the update but the first feedback on the new version confirms the absence of new features for users. Version 8.4 of Android Auto also represents a new step in the software optimization program, without introducing any real news.

Is the restyling still a long way off?

Therefore, the debut of the new Android Auto interface continues to be expected. The long-awaited restyling, known under the code name of Coolwalk and announced in recent months, continues to be in development. For the moment, there is still no trace of the news announced in recent months. The restyling was announced last May but its implementation in Android Auto has not yet been completed.

Initially, in fact, Coolwalk was supposed to arrive during the summer. Development, however, may have encountered issues along the way that prompted developers to revise the programs. Even version 8.4 of Android Auto, therefore, does not add the elements announced in recent months, limiting itself to correcting bugs and introducing a series of optimizations for the system. More details on what’s coming to Android Auto should emerge over the next few weeks.

In fact, in recent months, stable updates have arrived with high frequency (with the release of 2-3 new versions every month). Also in the near future, therefore, there should be a particularly accelerated pace of the development program with the aim of preparing the ground for the arrival of Coolwalk. The restyling and all the new features of Android Auto, announced in recent months, could therefore be released over the next few months, probably by the end of the year. We will know more shortly.
