iPhone 15 Pro with 6GB of RAM and an additional GPU core? New rumors about the technical specifications of the next iPhone 15 Pro.

Google is working on a feature similar to Appleā€™s Continuity

As has been reported many times, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to feature a new A17 Bionic chip produced in a 3nm manufacturing process. A new rumor today, however, provides more details on the specifications of the iPhone 15 Pro, including details on the amount of RAM.

According to rumors, the A17 Bionic chip will have a 6-core CPU processor and a 6-core GPU processor. The current A16 Bionic chip has a 6-core CPU processor and a 5-core GPU processor, so there will be an increase of one GPU core compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the A17 Bionic chip’s CPU will have a maximum clock speed of 3.70GHz, an increase from the A16 Bionic chip’s 3.46GHz.

On upcoming iPhones, the A17 Bionic chip will be paired with 6GB of RAM, like last year. This contrasts with previous rumors, which suggested the iPhone 15 Pro would have as much as 8GB of RAM. The leaker on Twitter says 8GB seems “unlikely, but maybe not impossible.”

The combination of the increased maximum clock speed, the additional GPU core and the new 3nm manufacturing process should bring dramatic improvements to the performance and energy efficiency of the iPhone 15 Pro.

As always, Apple may find its own balance between efficiency and performance improvements. The company could focus more on efficiency, thus focusing on improvements in battery life and opting for smaller performance gains. Or it could do the opposite, keeping battery life and efficiency roughly the same, but dramatically boosting performance capabilities.
