Stop Netflix password sharing, there is the date

Stop Netflix password sharing, there is the date. The days of sharing Netflix accounts are numbered: at the end of the year, the company announced it would stop by 2023 and in its latest shareholder report, which includes the results for the first quarter, it has just revealed that it has prepared a ” broad rollout” of new paid sharing feature during Q2.

The launch of the Beats Studio Buds+ is imminent

Since last July, in Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic, users have been asked to purchase “additional houses” to be linked to their account so that other families can also use the same account, with a price for a single “house ” which varies from country to country, although in none of these cases has it ever exceeded $2.99.

But already by June this paid function should be rolled out to more countries, including the United States, where it will be possible to come across the notice explaining that «if you don’t live with the owner of the account, you will need your account to continue to use the service”.

The control system that forwards this notice was presented in February and has some exceptions: for example, a user can request a temporary code to continue watching Netflix when travelling, and in any case the company reserves the right to pay close attention which devices access your account and where they do it from.

In an effort to attract more consumers, Netflix – which is all about higher quality and lower quantity – is however improving its offer, raising the video quality (initially limited to 720p) for the cheapest ad-supported plan. It is not clear whether this ploy will work, but the numbers collected to date are certainly very good: according to the new report, 1.8 million subscribers have been added in the last three months.
